Meet Joplin & McKernan!

Meet Joplin and McKernan! They have been with Lucky Cats Rescue for almost a year as part of our Safe Haven Program. Their owner has made the hard decision to release her rights and asked us to ensure they are adopted together. McKernan (neutered male) and Joplin (spayed female) are approximately 5 years of age and a very bonded pair.  They are very social, and they get along with children and dogs, but unfortunately, not other cats.  Their foster caregiver absolutely loves them, and the only reason she is not adopting them is because she has a cat of her own. In fact, here is what she has to say about her last year with them.

"They are fun loving. Love to snuggle and give cat kisses. They are laid back. Unrelenting love. Playful and curious. Great balance between playtime, cuddle time, and alone time. Joplin is a touch shy till she warms up, then is all love and snugs. McKernan is outgoing and loves attention.

It would not be my suggestion to put them in a home with other cats. They should be the only cats in the house. But they do great with kids and dogs. Joplin gets fearful, won’t use the litter box, and gets aggressive with other cats, and McKernan gets aggressive and protective.

They are seriously the best cats! I wish we could have kept them. If we didn’t have our cats already, we would have. Any home would be lucky to have them. They fill the room with love and joy."

How Can You Help?

They both need full dental work and have been estimated to run $3500 each. Their amazing foster mom has raised $1,000 for dental care. So this is where you come in:

  • First, please donate to the fund we have set up to cover their medical bills. If everyone can pitch in a little, we can significantly change their life and comfort.

  • Second, please help us find a forever home that will look out for them and keep them together in their home. Share with your friends and family, and help Joplin and McKernan have a home of their own!!

Share with your friends and family and help spread the word!
