It's 2024, and the Dental Days have arrived!

Today is the first of 2 dental appointments that are happening thanks to the generosity of YOU, all our donors! McKernan AKA Mr. M AKA Big Brotherrrs is up first as his teeth are the most severe of the 2 siblings. He is at his appointment today and the legend, Joplin aka Janis aka Janis Joplin, is scheduled for next week. We are so happy to see them get to this point and get the care they have been needing and hope you are too.

But more importantly, they have found their new Mom!!

After many visits and lots of love and patience, Joplin & McKernan have been in their new home the last couple of weeks under a "Foster-to-Adopt" agreement until their dentals are completed and their adoption can then be as well! Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet these kitties here in the office know how much love they have to give, they are some of the most outgoing and happy kitties and deserve nothing but a warm, safe, and loving place to call home. After hearing the story of their adopters last rescue kitty, I couldn't be happier to know the amount of love she gave her previous kitty, she will receive back 2-fold.

Sometimes, you need to Take A Paws

So, here’s the thing. Sometimes what starts out as an intentional stretttttch turns into something a little bit longer. Like a catnap in the sun. And then that turns into a Paws. That’s exactly what’s been happening over here at Lucky Cat Rescue. We’ve taken a much-needed Paws. A time to reflect. A time to ask ourselves what’s right for our future. A time to ask ourselves what kind of kitty colony we want to be when we grow up. And a time to ask ourselves what we need to do to get there.

New Year, New Mission Statement

Is it time to come out of internet hibernation already!? We are closing in on the end of Lucky Cats Rescue 2nd year and Lil Kim’s 2nd Birthday. I thought you should know a little about what has been happening over our Winter Break.

After a year of trying new things, figuring out what works, what doesn’t work and what means most, we have begun to focus on our key missions:

Bustin’ Out With Buster!

Class Information:

On Tuesday, January 3rd from noon-12:30 pm, we would like to host four humans to join Buster and me for our first open “Punch Therapy” class. This is not a fitness class. This class is designed to welcome those needing a safe place to get out some pent-up frustration, to be met & supported where you are, and to be encouraged along the way. No boxing experience is needed! This class is available to those of the LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY ONLY!! Yesss youuuu!!!

We want to host one pair of humans that would like to come together and support each other and two individuals that don't have anyone that would join them but want to come out anyways. I will partner with one and a special guest with the other participant. No special equipment or clothing is required. Just wear something loose and comfortable, sneakers, and some water. WARNING: fun might be had, and yelling and laughing will be encouraged. (Kitties will not be in attendance, we don't want to scare them.)

Lucky Cats Going into 2023

Hey everyone, miss me!? So I have some things I need to catch you all up on. First, I would be a hypocrite if I came here and did Holly Jolly Christmas fundraising shit this year. That wouldn't be true for me, which has been one of the root problems I've felt this year, and my brain has had enough, along with my heart. So please bare with me.

This year has been a struggle since it started; I've been reminded of more in business, about people, and myself than I learned. It's driven home why I've worked the way I do for all these years building my studio, why privacy is so important to me, and why I wanted to start Lucky Cats. There have been some great successes, but there have been a lot of things I have not received the support needed in some critical areas, and the days of me expressing real concerns being met with "it's fine" by those around me were over long ago. I have been pushed to my breaking point, and I knew most wouldn't be around to help the last couple of months, so I implemented a mental health break for the organization. I needed to take this time to prioritize Lucky Cats Rescues resources and goals for 2023 and process some things personally.

Thank you so much for being part of our beginnings!

Thank you so much for being part of our beginnings!

Lucky Cats Rescue is being developed around and inspired by what we already know to be true, the human and animal bond is one of the most powerful and healing experiences.

A fostering experience that is meant for the long-term care of mother cats and their kittens, orphaned kittens, and cats that have more emotional and medical needs. They need a special human to give them the time, space, and patience to show them that they are safe and cared for. To give them a safe haven and be their emotional support human while they are in a very uncertain place and don’t understand what is happening.
